The challenge
A global FMCG company needed its 60+ person insights and analytics function to stay relevant as AI, automation and new data sources changed what insight teams are expected to deliver.
A Big Five consultancy brought me in to define what the function of the future should look like.
The approach
I authored a white paper for the consultancy’s client, covering three areas:
- Future core skills: mastering the business question, turning data into insights, influencing decisions through storytelling, and delivering impactful insights, with AI and technology integrated throughout.
- Organisation design: a structure more closely integrated with the core business, using global capabilities for reach and scale.
- Governance: clear roles and responsibilities for data management and for working with core functions such as Marketing and R&D.
Results & impact
The consultancy presented the recommendations to its client as the blueprint for the function’s next stage.
